The Building Centre Movement

The Building Centre Movement was launched by the Government of India, Ministry of Housing Urban & Poverty Alleviation through HUDCO in 1988. Building Centres are playing a significant role not only in the construction of cost effective livable, durable, aesthetic, in short say as affordable and acceptable houses by using cost effective, appropriate, intermediate and sustainable technologies but also generating substantial employment opportunities by training not only in the conventional technologies but also in the cost effective building material trades.
